Our Story

Thank you for purchasing your new Marbles board!  Gather your friends and family, unplug for a while and “Let’s chuck ‘Em!”

Our journey with Marbles began through the friendship of our wonderful neighbors. Their son discovered the game while studying in Minnesota and introduced it to us in Illinois in 2016. We are incredibly grateful for their friendship and for introducing us to this captivating game!

With Brad Merkle’s background as a builder and Chris Merkle’s experience as an art teacher, we saw a perfect opportunity to combine our talents and share the joy of Marbles with others.

The History of Marbles, similar to Wahoo

Wahoo is a classic board game that has been enjoyed by generations. Its origins can be traced back to the early 20th century, with roots in Native American games and the evolution of traditional "race" games. The game is often associated with the American Midwest, where it gained popularity in the 1940's & 1950's, though it has since spread across the country and around the world.

The game itself is played on a board featuring spaces arranged in a circular or square path, with each player racing to move their pieces from start to home, based on dice rolls. Wahoo is known for its simple yet strategic game play, which combines luck with tactical decisions, making it a favorite among families and friends.

Despite its long history, Wahoo, or Marbles remains a beloved game to this day, with many different variations and styles of boards available, from handmade wooden versions to modern digital adaptations. Its enduring appeal lies in its easy-to-understand rules, competitive fun, and the nostalgic charm it holds for players of all ages.
